Can we think on sustainability on a new level?
Which is the evolution of sustainable systems if we had to look on the future?
As said on global system change Frank Dixon “The main reason our well-intentioned systems produce unintended consequences is the failure to think systemically. Everything on the Earth is part of one interconnected and interdependent system. But it is difficult for the human mind to contemplate all the details of the whole Earth system at once. As a result, human systems (economic, political, social) were developed in simplified, reductionistic ways that exclude many relevant, interconnected aspects of society, thus creating unintended consequences."
We should be using system thinking, be willing to question everything, design by natures laws, make a no judgement mentality, focus on results, and pursue simultaneous success.
Sustainable Society Index (SSI) shows the level of sustainability of 213 assessed countries. It shows in a simple way the distance to full sustainability for each of the 21 indicators that build up the SSI. The SSI is used for monitoring the progress of a country on its way to sustainability, for setting policy priorities with respect to sustainability, to make comparisons between countries when assessing corporate risks, for education purposes, and for further research and development.
Is click all the boxes of each area of human development transformed in what we know as sustainable the answer?
